Boy (15) stabs taxi driver in Oslo Beach

The incident happened in a taxi headed to Port Shepstone.

A taxi driver was stabbed multiple times by a teenage boy in Oslo Beach on June 28.

The boy, aged 15, who was the only passenger in the vehicle produced a knife and stabbed the driver from behind on his right arm and neck.

At the time the taxi was headed to Port Shepstone. The driver lost control, drove off the road, and crashed into the trees.

The driver, who was bleeding heavily, collapsed near the taxi on the side of the road.

Security officers from Lazer 911 stopped to assist, and got the description of the boy and gave chase.
As the victim was being loaded into an ambulance, the security officers returned with the teen and the driver identified him.

The boy was then handed over to police.

Ugu District Saps Communication confirmed the incident and said a case of attempted murder has been opened for investigation at Port Shepstone police station.

“A 41 year old man who was driving a taxi was stabbed in the upper body by a male passenger whom he allegedly picked up on the way to Port Shepstone. The driver lost control of his vehicle in Marine Drive and was assisted by alert security services who were passing by.”

According to police, the boy will be accommodated in a place of safety while investigations are under way.
