The opening night of the annual Art by the Sea 2022 Exhibition is testimony that the South Coast is a haven for art lovers and artists.

Chairman Johann du Toit said that the attendance of art lovers at the event exceeded the club’s expectations by far.

“The positive and encouraging feedback from guests proved that this exhibition is one not to be missed,” he said.
Local celebrity Barbie Meyer, who opened the exhibition, helps husband and sculpture artist Marke Meyer, who acted as judge of the artworks, with handing out of the prizes.
The 2022 exhibition aims to highlight the beauty of the South Coast, with several paintings reflecting just that.

All fine art mediums – water colours, pastels, acrylic and oil paints, inks, pen and pencils – can be seen on the walls.
Margate Art Museum hosts the exhibition for the duration of August.

Visiting hours at the museum are from 09:00 to 16:00 on Tuesdays to Fridays, and 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays.
