Win big in marine protected areas photo contest
A photo competition to showcase South African MPAs is running.
Although the second annual Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Day was celebrated on August 1, the celebrations are ongoing.
The MPA photo competition to highlight the 42 South African MPAs is currently running until August 30.

Amateur and professional photographers may enter in the ‘Under the Water in an MPA’ and ‘Above the Water in an MPA’ categories.
There are tons of great prizes to be won so be sure to try your luck. Email mpadaysa@gmail.com for more information.
Citizen scientists are also encouraged to contribute towards the iNaturalist MPA Project. Those who enjoy diving, snorkelling or exploring rocky shores with a camera have the chance to contribute towards MPA Day by sharing photos and supporting scientific research.
