Mrs Royal pageant entrant wants to be a voice for women
She has personally been through GBV, suicide and depression and wants to reach out to all women.
Yashina Singh of Port Shepstone, is a semi-finalist in the Mrs Royal International South Africa Pageant.
The pageant is about celebrating beauty, regality, intelligence and seeks to crown a woman who is a role model for other women.
The grand finale takes place on November 26, and the winner will represent South Africa at the Ms Universe Pageant in Miami, USA.
Proud to be a semi-finalist, Yashina believes that every woman has a part to play in society. She has personally been through gender-based violence, suicide and depression.
Last August, her partner Rishi Duki and her went through the ordeal of Covid-19, and sadly Rishi lost his battle.
Yashina started her career in financial services in 1987 and is currently the relationship manager at a bank in Port Shepstone.
She is passionate about working with women and children, and has been involved in her own volunteer projects for more than 20 years, and is also a volunteer at Ignite Revolution.
“I entered the pageant to be a voice for women, to help be an instrument of change, and to significantly impact all those I come in contact with. My belief is that we cannot let society, or any person define who we are, rather we must choose to rebuild and define ourselves.”
Yashina believes that the pageant will provide her with more opportunity to reach more women in transforming lives. It is also the vision for her personal brand logo ‘The Lady of Purple’, creating purpose for a better tomorrow. “The Lady of Purple was launched to help transform people into becoming change agents and rainmakers.
Her biggest blessing is her Son Rudy, who has been a pillar of strength and support.
The pageant is also a tribute to Rishi who always believed in her. “He was my biggest supporter and fan in the Mrs Uniworld 2021 Pageant. He pushed me, helping me raise the bar on myself. Mrs Royal is more than just a pageant for me, it’s something close to my heart as it also allows me to honour the man I love, and even from above I’m sure that he smiles down on me, cheering me on.”
