Campaign raises awareness on women’s safety
Matters such as gender based violence was addressed.
In celebration of Women’s Month and Women’s Day last week, Scottburgh Saps members recently embarked on an awareness campaign in the town.
The station’s Youth Desk was involved with the Scottburgh members and they were joined by Scottburgh Saps station commander, Colonel Ralph Ruiters.
The team addressed the public on matters such as gender-based violence, domestic violence, sexual offences and human trafficking.
Educational pamphlets were handed out as well and a procession was conducted at Scottburgh beach, the main street and taxi rank.
The day concluded on a high with the team displaying their placards outside the police station while singing and dancing.
