Beekman Group wins top award, thanks community

The Beekman name has become synonymous with holiday timeshare.

As directors of the Beekman Group, Cindy Allan, Neville Beekman and Wayne Beekman, would like to acknowledge the extended community on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast for its continued support over the decades that this province has been home to the family business.

Beekman Group is honoured to have been acknowledged as the Top Family Business in KZN at the recent Standard Bank KwaZulu-Natal Top Business Awards in late July, which has gone a long way in, once again, validating the work and vision of founding fathers, John Beekman and his late brother Bram.

When they moved to the province in 1980 and opened their first vacation ownership resort on the South Coast, neither of them could have imagined how they would be embraced by the people and abundant energy that now form an integral part of a business that has since grown to become a leading corporate player in the South African leisure industry.

Thus, this award recognises not only the dedication and consistency required to run a family business of over 1 000 employees, but also the contribution of the thousands of extended family members who have walked through Beekman’s doors as employees, partners, guests and friends over the years.
