To close off Women’s Month celebrations, Umgqungqo Wabantu is inviting the community to a jazz and poetry night at Senzi’s Lounge on Sunday, 28 August from 14:00 to 18:00.
The concert will feature Johannesburg trombone player Lebogang ‘Mizzbone’ Pangwa, a trombone as a special guest, alongside local poets and artists, including Noncedo Disane, Nozibusiso Vezi, Nelz ‘Words’ Shibe and Onke Qwane.
Pangwa is the founder of Brasshopper Music and is part of a growing network of pan-African music teachers who teach a variety of musical disciplines online.
The organisers said the audience can expect a spectacular performance and the theme for the concert is themed Denim and Doek and women are urged to dress according to the theme.
