“We are ready to govern” – IFP
The IFP were also in partnership with Gift of the Givers and handed over two new, fully furnished houses to families.
The president of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), Velenkosini Hlabisa visited the South Coast last Wednesday.
The IFP leader was at a gala dinner at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre.
He was accompanied by the national spokesperson of the party Mkhuleko Hlengwa, Chief Bhekizizwe Luthuli of Mthwalume and other leaders.
The reason for the dinner was to get feedback from the public and to inform people that the IFP is ready to govern.
Without hesitation, Hlabisa raised that the ruling party has failed South Africa and should be removed.
He called them a careless government who don’t care how they spend money.
He talked about the crisis the country is facing such as load shedding, water issues, unemployment and corruption.
“It is the ruling party that ran Eskom into the chaotic state that it is today.”
He also mentioned that people no longer look for jobs because they know there aren’t any.
“So much wrong has been happening under the watch of the ruling party.”
Sadi Ndikumana from Port Shepstone said he is a foreign national but had all the legal documents to be here, he raised the issue of foreigners turning the country into a crime zone and asked what is the IFP going to do about it.
Hlabisa responded that people have to remove the government that has turned borders into porous borders.
The two-day programme continued last Thursday where the IFP, in partnership with Gift of the Givers handed over two new, fully furnished houses to the Dlamini and Zulu families in Ward 20, Gobhela area, in Mthwalume.
“These all-female beneficiaries were left homeless after the devastating April floods. We wish them well in their new homes.”
They also donated 120 food parcels to Ward 20 residents, again in partnership with the Gift of the Givers.
