South Coast singers wow TikTok
The Showgirls used the Tiktok platform to promote the South Coast as a fantastic tourist destination.
At a time where the mood in the country is somewhat gloomy, two South Coast singers have brought some joy, filling the region with pride, with their unexpected success on short-form video hosting service, TikTok.
Natascha Muller-Saaiman (34) and Judy Smith (26), both former learners of Hoërskool Suid-Natal, recently joined forces to form The Showgirls (Tascha and Judy).
They outperformed many rankers on TikTok, showcasing their stunning voices and placing seventh on the African Rising Star Ranking, and 78th on the overall Weekly African Ranking.
In the process they showed what incredible talent the South Coast has to offer.
Natascha has a passion for the stage and is known for her unique and classy style of electro-swing, cabaret, jazz, pop and modern ragtime style of entertainment.
Judy is a vocalist with an angelic voice and enjoys doing live entertainment.
Another TikTok user, Isabel Potgieter (nee Venter), a former Port Shepstone High learner and now radio host on 90.6 FM in the Vaal, also teamed up with The Showgirls to promote the South Coast with her stunning voice.
While enjoying their TikTok ‘fame’, Natascha and Judy also have a heart for animals, cats in particular.
They are supporting animal activist Trudie Roets in her drive to create awareness about the importance of the sterilisation of feral cats.
Trudie is aiming to sterilise 100 cats in the next two weeks and the pair urge the community to support her.
The singers also took the opportunity to promote the South Coast, sharing about many of the wonderful things to see and do in the region.
They said they have had an absolute blast this past week, never expecting to experience so much love and support from the community.
Sadly though, Natascha, will soon be exchanging her showgirl hat for a Stetson as she will be leaving the South Coast to join her husband in the USA.
