Fashion and shine at Uvongo Community Policing fundraiser
The fundraiser supported the Crime Prevention team’s camera initiative.
Fashion and crime prevention came together at the Uvongo Community Police Forum’s Fashion Show and Matric Ball Showcase fundraiser recently.
The event featured a fashion show, with models taking to the catwalk in Edgars clothing, followed by a showcase featuring local matrics dressed in formal gowns and suits.
The matric showcase saw learners overcome their initial nerves as they took to the stage.
Judges had the difficult task of selecting the winners, with Gabriella Roos of Suid-Natal High taking first place. Luriska Barnard, also from Suid-Natal High, placed second, while Masimbonge Magadla of Port Shepstone High and Arnold Cronje of Suid-Natal High shared third place.
The fundraiser supported the Uvongo CPF Crime Prevention team’s camera initiative, which aims to assist with community safety.
The event also received support from local businesses and community members.
The CPF Crime Prevention team made a special appearance at the event, highlighting its role in keeping residents and visitors safe.
The Boogie Babes also attended and supported the fundraiser. The group is involved in community clean-up initiatives and regularly supports local community events.
Organisers thanked all sponsors, participants and supporters who contributed towards the fundraiser and the camera initiative.
