Station 39 welcomes newcomers
The new crew members joined during a recent recruitment drive.
NSRI Station 39 Rocky Bay had a very successful turnout for its recent crew recruitment drive.
Eight new sea crew and one coastal watcher have joined the dynamic team of volunteers.
The new trainee crew were given a pre-sea briefing then taken out onboard Station 39’s two high speed rescue craft.
“The huge smiles on their faces when they got back were priceless,” said Linda Putter, deputy statcom/station admin.
“Our station commander Kevin Fourie and the crew of Station 39 wish to welcome all our new trainee crew and wish them a long, successful and rewarding career with Sea Rescue.”
The crew would also like to inform the public of yet another missing pink rescue buoy, this time from Bazley beach. If anyone has the buoy or may have seen it, they are requested to return it to its pole as these devices can potentially save lives.
