Amadiba Crisis Committee to celebrate heritage

Amampondo will continue to defend their ancestral land and culture, just like their forebears did during the Mpondo Rebellion.

The Amadiba Crisis Committee will host a cultural festival in Mtentu Village, Amadiba coast in Mbizana, Eastern Cape to celebrate the victories they had in their struggle to protect the ocean and their land on the Wild Coast on Sunday October 2.

The victories have recognised the connection between the land, the ocean and the rights of the people who are directly dependent on the environment for their livelihood, food and for their cultural and spiritual wellbeing.

This will be a cultural festival of the AmaMpondo, with traditional music, song, dance and food.
