Youngster is a budding guitar maestro
He developed a love for the instrument from listening to his grandfather.
Nine-year-old Tyler Gous of Sea Park has been playing the guitar for only a few years, but he’s already mastered the instrument and is now playing for his church and at his music school concerts.
The Grade 4 learner started playing the guitar at the age of five. Tyler says his love for the guitar comes from his grandfather, Albie (73) and that he simply loves the tunes emanating from the instrument.
His love for music and to continue playing the instrument stems from attending Key Note Music School.
He has now mastered the tunes of Eric Clapton, Jonathan Butler and more. Playing with his church band, Tyler has grown out of his shyness and at some point would love to sing.
“Playing the guitar is easy and I practise in my spare time. I feel relaxed and enjoy the compliments I receive from family and friends. I look forward to mastering it and becoming a famous guitarist one day.”
Tyler’s music guru, Paul Geoffery said: “He is a brilliant guitarist at his age and I have high hopes for this young man. His passion for leaning has inspired me and I hope more youngsters can follow in his footsteps.”
Tyler is also into karate, fast cars and would love to be a fighter pilot.
