Maskandi meets hip-hop in talent show
South Coast artists should support and collaborate with each other as much as possible.
Innovative Talented Young Minds (IN.TYM), a hub for creatives, recently hosted a Maskandi meets Hip-Hop Talent show and competition at Zuri Beach Club.
It was a tight battle as the local talents from both the genres took their turns to impress the adjudicators.
The organisers said the aim of the talent show was to give the local artists a platform to showcase their talents, whilst networking with one another.
“Our focus is sharing knowledge, skills and experiences while collaborating and creating content with and for emerging creatives. Apart from providing a space for young minds to develop and enhance their skills, our objective is to create a community of artists and media practitioners who can sustain themselves,” said Usikele Ngalo, one of the organisers.
The master of ceremonies at the event was no other than local actor, MC and hip-hop artist, Sphesihle Cele, who has appeared in many television shows including Uzalo and Durban Gen.
Cele entertained the guests and talents, encouraging them to always support each other.
