Rudi and Ilse clinch Lions day win

Prize-giving was followed by live music courtesy of Ian Stewart and Peter Barker.

The annual Port Shepstone Lions’ Charity Golf Day was held at Port Shepstone Country Club last Saturday.

Nearest to the pin – Justin Hinchliff.

Members of the club manned the Lions/Curnow KZN stand at the 17th hole where they treated players to light refreshments and plenty of encouragement for the challenging hole that lay ahead of them.

Nearest to the pin – Gary Vogt.

Club secretary Denis Meyer expressed gratitude on behalf of the Lions to Port Shepstone Country Club, the many other sponsors and individuals who contributed so generously, and to all the golfers who supported the event.

Nearest to the pin – Barry van der Veen.

He also thanked project convener, Ian Stewart and his team for organising the event and sponsorships.

A significant amount of money was raised for the charity.

Winners on the day were Rudi and Ilse Steyn on 46 points, followed by Charles and Jenny Hulley on 44 points, counting out Nick Wattrus and Altaaf Bux.
