No swimming allowed at Umdoni beaches due to pod of whales
Refrain from any water-related activities.
Umdoni beachgoers are urged not to swim at local beaches under this municipality as beaches are temporarily closed once again, but this time due to a pod of whales.
It is believed that the whales are moving south and coming close to the shore, thus not fighting against the strong currents and predators such as orcas and large sharks.
The KZN Sharks Board has removed the shark safety gear to avoid entanglements.
The community is asked not to participate in any water-related activities until further notice.
