Ministering through Hidden Treasure charity shop
The funds raised in the little shop go towards making a difference in the community.
There is a special second hand item for everyone at Port Shepstone Hidden Treasure Charity Store.
The little shop situated on the premises of the Port Shepstone Baptist Church (corner of Scott Street) opened its doors on April 1, 2016 and is run by a group of friendly volunteers.
The shop is run by managers, Alet Grubb and Mary Sanesy, a board of directors and volunteers.
“Your junk is someone else’s treasure,” said Mary.
All proceeds from the shop support ministries, elderly, women and children in and around the community.
Alet and Mary thanked their regular clients who have supported the store, either by donations or purchases over the years.
“We could not have helped the projects we are involved in for the last six years, if it weren’t for our amazing supporters. The shop can only run effectively with the assistance of volunteers, and we are extremely grateful for them,” said Alet.
Interestingly, the charity shop ministry initiated by the Women’s Department of the Baptist Union of Southern Africa have opened a chain of charity shops around the country.
How can you help? Clean out your cupboards and donate used and sometimes new household goods, furniture, electrical appliances, books, cutlery and clothes… everything and anything!
If you can’t deliver to the shop, they can collect.
