Craig steals show with corsair model
The Denkit team is looking forward to the next meeting, which will be a model built.
Newcomer Craig Botha, better known for his work as a paramedic, won two prizes at a Plastic Model Meet held at Denkit Hobbies recently.
Jean-Pierre Oehlerking welcomed everyone to the meeting, including Craig and other newcomers in Wimpie, Jacques and Chantelle Labuschagne.
The focus of the meeting was to bring along a model or project one was in progress with. There was also a ‘Japanese built’ theme, which showed variety.
Floating trophies were handed out on a vote basis. Jordan Joynt made a new trophy for the hosts. Rebekha Joynt took the junior trophy and newcomer Craig Botha took both the military and overall win. His hangar with the corsair was superb.
Among the models were car models from the ’80s, dioramas, planes, military, bikes as well as Bradley’s Kok outstanding painted figurines.
It was heart-warming to see a number of juniors in the club and their talent doesn’t go unnoticed.
It was superb to see tips, ideas and knowledge being shared. The hobby shop proved to be a popular venue, with hot dogs, cold drinks, coffee and biscuits served.
