Holiday of a lifetime for children
A visit to San Lameer Estate proved to be a major highlight.
The South Coast has provided memorable holidays to many over the years.
It was the case again for 12 children from Johannesburg who were hosted by San Lameer Estate for a day.
It was an experience they will never forget. The children, orphans from St Laurence Children Haven in Johannesburg, visited the coast as part of Round Table’s Kids to the Sea project.
Margate Round Table 46 and Northridge Round Table 117 have been running the project for more than 25 years.
The children who visited this year were between the ages of one and 19 and, for all, it was their first-ever, week-long seaside holiday.
The youngsters received gifts and clothes, enjoyed a tasty lunch and were spoiled with ice-cream
Then there was adventure paddling and, of course, some golf, plus a whole lot of other spoils, before heading off to experience other adventures the coast has to offer.
San Lameer Estate hosted the first day of the project, taking the opportunity to show it’s passionate about the children of the country.
