Learners gain skills at Rotary youth leadership course

It was a busy but eventful week for the youngsters.

The Rotary Club of Port Shepstone held its 57th Rotary Youth Leadership Course at Port Shepstone High School with 70 Grade 11 learners from around KwaZulu-Natal recently.

This is an annual event, however it has not taken place in the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The busy week challenged attendees’ values, attitudes, knowledge and skills and leadership competencies.

A group of Grade 11 learners from various schools also visited the South Coast Herald last Wednesday.

The learners wanted to explore how a newspaper is run.

They met with the editorial, sales and production departments and chatted to staff, also gaining some knowledge.
