Fun run proceeds to assist learners

The annual charity event was well supported and successful.

Excitement and perseverance was the call of the day, as over 50 runners and walkers participated in SM Foundation’s annual 12km and 7km fun run and walk at Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre last Sunday.

Organiser Sibusiso Makhanya said the aim of the event was to raise the much-needed funds, to assist learners with uniforms and stationery next year.

He said the proceeds have not been tallied as yet, however he assured the public that the event was a huge success.

“Supporters of the initiative ran virtually and others donated their entry money because they could not participate on the day due to other commitments. The event was a success because of them and mostly our sponsors who made the event possible by donating various services,” said Makhanya.

He thank everyone who played a role and assured them that all their efforts will not go unrecognised.
