Bakkies burst into flames after collision in Gamalakhe

Paramedics from  Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the Gamalakhe road for reports of a collision earlier this morning.

Spokesperson for Kwazulu Private Ambulance, Chantel Botha said emergency services arrived and found that two bakkies had been involved in a collision, and were engulfed in flames.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found the occupants had been able to escape the vehicles before the flames overwhelmed both vehicles. One patient sustained serious injuries and another patient sustained minor injuries.”

The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the accident will be investigated by the police.
