Toy run collects for less fortunate children
Some 130 bikers participated in the 17th Ramsgate Lions Club toy collection ride 2022.
With the incredible support of the biker community, Ramsgate Lions Club celebrated 17 years of toy collection for less fortunate children in the community.
The celebrations were held at the Lions clubhouse in Ramsgate.
The club’s Roland Lemmer said the South Coast Toy Run is the only one of its kind.
“Five local schools have become part of the beautiful concept of paying it forward and the Lions are very proud and thankful for the absolute positive support found in the children of Creston College, Marburg Secondary, Margate Primary, South City Christian Schools and Suid-Natal Primer that donated toys to less fortunate children,” Lemmer added.

The celebrations started with a bike ride at 10.30 from C-Bali on St Michaels beach and ended at the Lions clubhouse in Glenmarkie Drive. More than 130 bikers participated in the ride with some of the bikes fully decorated with toys.
“We also had live music, a lucky draw and people got to network, enjoy some meals and drinks at the cash bar.”
