The Indian Africans book launch soon

To mark the 162nd anniversary of the arrival of the first Indian Indentured workers in colonial Natal a book launch will be held at Marburg Secondary school.

South Coasters are invited to attend a book launch to mark the 162nd anniversary of the first arrival of Indian indentured workers in colonial Natal aboard the SS Truro.

The book launch will be held at Marburg Secondary School hall on Saturday, December 10 at 14:30. Titled The Indian Africans, it is written by Paul David, Ranjith Choonilall, Kiru Naidoo and Selvan Naidoo. The lavishly illustrated 374 page book launched on

November 16 and South Coast will have the privilege of getting their hands on it.

“What really sets this book apart is that it shows for the very first time actual photographs taken on board the indenture ship,” says publisher Anivesh Singh.
