Fish for a cleaner environment
The day will also serve as a fundraiser to support the cleaning up initiatives of Tidy Town Port Shepstone.
South Coasters are encouraged to be part of a fantastic family outing this weekend.
Thompson Motors South Coast presents its first annual fishing competition in support of Tidy Towns Port Shepstone this Saturday, December 3 from 05:00 to 13:00.
Organisers of the event encourage the community and their families to come out in numbers and enjoy the fun-filled family day on the Port Shepstone beachfront.
Designated areas for fishing include Sandspit in Port Shepstone, The Block and 7th Avenue to King Prawn.
Entry for adults is R50 per person and R20 for U18s and pensioners.
For those not keen on angling join in a beach walk from King Prawn to The Block at 10:00. Entry is R20 per person.
Categories include U21 most amount bagged fish, 13-18 years most amount bagged fish, adults most amount bagged fish, biggest edible fish caught – open to all ages.
For some extra fun, there will be a accuracy casting competition. The fun walk is open to all ages.
Weigh-in will be done at 13:00.
Festivities will be based at The Block and food and drinks will be on sale. There will be great prizes to be won, so take the family along and ‘get hooked’.

All proceeds will go to the wonderful work being done by Tidy Towns Port Shepstone and will assist with maintenance and upkeep of the Port Shepstone beachfront area.
