Double drowning at Park Rynie beach

Two young girls, aged 12 and 15, drowned at Park Rynie beach last Saturday.
According to police, the girls arrived with a group of people at the Park Rynie beach campsite on the day of the incident.

“An Umdoni lifeguard was summoned to assist and he managed to pull ashore the body of the older girl,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.
“The search for the 12-year-old is still continuing.”
Police appeal to beachgoers to swim in demarcated spots and not to swim in rough surf.
“Adults are requested to be vigilant with children under their supervision near water.”
