The festive season is here and the strategic deployment of local police is in place, to ensure everyone’s safety.

“More boots are on the ground to enhance police visibility and deployments are ready in line with policing objectives,” explained Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

“Vehicle control points will be structured to control vehicle access to beach parking lots and beaches, and motorists and the public are asked to comply with police on the ground to facilitate policing and safety.”

Consuming alcohol on the beach or in public parking lots is prohibited and alcohol will not be allowed in these areas.

Police advise the public not to enter the water after consuming alcohol and to only swim in areas where lifeguards are on duty.

People are reminded to supervise their children while at the beach or any water borne areas.

“Do not drive while under the influence of alcohol and drugs and don’t forget to exercise caution and be crime conscious this festive season,” added Captain Francis.

“We wish everyone a merry Christmas and a prosperous 2023.”
