Search is on for song of the year
This competition will make up the first annual Life FM KZN soundtrack.
Upcoming local musicians are being given an opportunity to showcase their talent through Life FM KZN’s Song of the Year competition.
The South Coast based radio station requests musicians from not just the South Coast, but nationwide to participate.
“The competition is now open, and it is free,” said Mlungisi Doncabe, chairman of Life FM KZN.
“It’s not just about finding a great song of the year, our vision is to uplift and support South African artists too.”
This competition will make up the first annual Life FM KZN soundtrack.
Those interested in participating have to send their details via WhatsApp on 069 2129728. Entries must consist of an artist profile or biography, a clear picture, a song chosen to enter for Song of the Year and lastly, links to social media platforms. The competition will close on Christmas Day.
“After entries close, the station will create a panel of experts who will listen to all the music that was sent through, and will select 10 of the most interesting songs,” said Doncabe.
“The 10 selected songs will be revealed on Tuesday, December 27 and the public will vote for its favourite artists on Life FM KZN’s Facebook page.”
Voting will close on December 31 at 22:30. The winning song will be announced on December 31 at midnight – a great way to start 2023 for one lucky artist.
Besides bragging rights, there are also fantastic prizes up for grabs. The winner will walk away with a R2000 cash prize, a certificate from the station, R200 airtime and will become the ambassador for the radio station for the next 12 months.
The station will hold an event in Dududu to celebrate this competition and all listeners and music lovers are welcome to join. People can expect performances from the top artists and the most promising artist who did not make it to the final stages. More details will be posted on the radio station’s social media platforms.
