The Rotary Club of Port Shepstone is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals, and invites the community to support its fifth annual coin drive which will be held at the Southcoast Mall and Shelly Centre this Saturday (7th).

Project coordinator, Dell Pendock said the proceeds from the event will be used for various community grants, however, the Port Shepstone Child Welfare is the main beneficiary of the fundraiser.

“This year we aim to raise R40 000 which will enable our beneficiaries to assist needy children with necessary school uniforms and supplies. Sponsorship is critical to our success and we humbly appeal to the community for support, to make a difference in society,” said Pendock.

She said the drive will start at both shopping centres from 09:00 to 14:00, where Rotarians will be set up together with volunteers.

There will be several forms of recognition for supporters ranging in various categories. A Diamond sponsor of R5 000 will receive five large medallions bearing their name or logo which will be displayed at various points along the tape at both venues, a pull-up banner and A4 poster which needs to be supplied by the sponsor to display at the main table at both venues.

Platinum sponsors who donate R2 500 will receive four medallions bearing their name, a poster displayed at the main table at both venues, in the media and social pages. The Gold sponsor of R1000 will get three medallions, a poster and acknowledgement in the media and social page.

She said sponsors of R500 (silver) and R250 (bronze) will also be recognised and will receive medallions and recognition on social media.
