Singing duo wow fans at retirement village

It was a day to remember, the duo sang beautifully.

Residents of Margate Retirement Village enjoyed a wonderful performance by Adrian and Emma-Jean Galliard, a father-daughter singing duo from Johannesburg, on Tuesday this week.

The Galliards have a big fan base at the village, and everyone dressed up for the hour-long concert which was held in Azalea Hall.
Their beautiful performance saw fans asking for more.

While they have been singing professionally for a while, in 2020, they shot to internet fame after videos of them singing ‘The Prayer and Time To Say Goodbye’ went viral, leading to them being mistaken for the son and granddaughter of Andrea Boccelli.

The 13 year-old Emma-Jean is a talented singer, platform diver, athlete and actress. Emma-Jean’s achievements include appearing in several TV commercials and a TV show, I Am a Work of Art, about gifted children.

She also attended the National Age Group Diving Competition in Durban in 2021, where she won three bronze and one silver medal.

Emma has always loved music, and even as a baby would hum or sing along to any music, she heard. Along with her dad, big brother, uncle and cousins, she often sings in church and at family gatherings.

Joan Isherwod (90) was excited to hear the father-daughter singing duo.
