Body with severe head injuries found in Murchison
It is possible the man could have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area.
A body of an unknown man, wrapped in a blanket, was discovered by a herdsman in Murchison on January 2, 2023.
Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said a herdsman discovered the body and contacted police.
Initial observations revealed a missing right thumb, previously amputated, and severe head injuries.
The man had no identification but was estimated to have been aged between 35 and 45 years old.
There is the possibility that the man could have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area.
“This cannot be ruled out,” said Mpinge.
Port Shepstone Detective Service are investigating a case of murder.
