SCAM: Man pretends to be Margate detective

The public is reminded that at no stage will Saps ask for money to process a case more speedily.

A man pretending to be a Saps Margate policeman by the name of ‘Detective Mokoena’ is promising victims of crime that he will be able to speed up their cases in lieu of payment.

He also promises return of stolen property for a cash payment.

Don’t be fooled.

Police spokesman Sergeant Sibu Ncane said the public is warned that at no stage will Saps ask for money to process a case more speedily.

You’ve been warned.
