BREAKING: One dead in N2 accident near Umzumbe, helicopter called in [PICS]

Emergency services and police have been activated to the scene.

A head-on collision has occurred on the N2 Umzumbe a short while ago.

Information, so far, received is that one person has died and another is critically injured.

A Netcare 911 helicopter has been activated to transport the injured person to hospital.

It is not clear if the road is closed or if one lane (northern lane) is open at this stage.

The road will probably be closed off when the helicopter lands on the accident scene.

This is a developing story and will be updated as soon as more information comes to light.
