Man dies after concrete pillar collapses at construction site in Marburg
Port Shepstone SAPS K9 Search and Rescue and Mi7 teams set up a high angle rescue system to remove the man from the construction site.
A man, in his 30s, died after a concrete pillar collapsed at a construction site in Marburg earlier this afternoon.
Rudi Prinsloo of Mi7 said medics arrived to find that a concrete pillar had collapsed on a construction worker on the second floor of the building.
Prinsloo said colleagues removed the man from underneath the pillar, and found that he was not breathing and had no pulse.

They started CPR, which Mi7 medics – along with their colleagues from KwaZulu Private Ambulance – continued to administer upon arrival.
Further Advanced Life Support interventions were administered but the man unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Port Shepstone SAPS K9 Search and Rescue and Mi7 teams set up a high angle rescue system using a crane to remove the man from the construction site.
Mi7 passes their condolences to the loved ones of the deceased.
