MM’s post at Ugu stll vacant
Vela Mazibuko is in the position currently in an acting capacity.
Ugu District Municipality has advertised a vacancy for a municipal manager (MM).
The five-year contract will be based on performance.
Currently, Vela Mazibuko is in an acting capacity in the position, after the death of the MM, Dr Elliot Sibusiso Ntombela recently.
Mazibuko comes with a wealth of local government experience as he has been employed in the municipality as a general manager in Corporate Services for years.
At a public meeting in Betania on Monday this week, KwaZulu-Natal MEC of Finance, Peggy Nkonyeni visited Inkosi Sazi Ndwalane who made a strong statement.
Inkosi made it clear that Mazibuko will be the MM at Ugu and no-one will threaten him after his appointment.
“I will make sure that you stay in that position comfortably and that no one ever threatens you. When they appoint you I will make sure that you work in peace and that you finish your term.”
The post is still vacant and the closing date for applications is Friday, March 17, 2023.
