Tyres removed: Security, civic groups and police on high alert ahead of National Shutdown
Port Shepstone Business Against Crime CPF have vowed to come down hard on would-be anarchists planning to destroy infrastructure in the EFF's national shutdown protest on Monday.

Ahead of the planned National Shutdown, the Port Shepstone Business Against Crime (BAC) says it respects the call by the business community of Port Shepstone to close in consideration of safety and security within the business sector in both the CBD and Marburg business areas.
A national shutdown has been planned as a protest against load shedding and President Cyril Ramaphosa for tomorrow (Monday, March 20).
In a media statement released by the BAC it will endeavor to fulfill its role by assisting Saps and Law Enforcement to ensure peace and stability within the time called upon for the shutdown.

The BAC, under its controlling body, the Port Shepstone Crime Prevention Forum (CPF) said it will not tolerate the destruction of commercial and public infrastructure, intimidation, threat, loss or damage of human life, and property.
Earlier this week, tyres were found in two separate locations on the South Coast.
It’s believe the tyres could have been used for road blockades in the planned shutdown protest. (However, this can’t be confirmed and there have been other reasons suggested as to why the tyres were placed there.)
Security companies have been on high alert. Lazer 911 Crime Prevention Unit received information informing them of a mini skip filled with tyres.
The exact location was obtained from the informant and Lazer 911 Crime Prevention Unit immediately responded to the provided location.
Upon Crime Prevention’s arrival, they found that the information provided was a positive tip off leading to the successful confiscation and removal of 29 tyres.
They believe the tyres could have been used for road blockades in the planned shutdown protest for tomorrow (March 20th).
These tyres were handed over and booked in at the Southport Police Station.

In a separate incident, more tyres were removed yesterday (Saturday) in Sea Park by Lazer 911.
