Wendy Roos’ driving days are over after 60 years
It's been no dings, dents or scratches for Mbango resident.
After 60 years of driving, Wendy Roos of Mbango Retirement Village is finally ‘hanging up her steering wheel’.
Wendy, who turned 80 last year, decided to stop driving and rely on the courtesy shuttles that Mbango provides where she has resided for the last decade.
This is a very rare and fortunate situation as Wendy drove from March 1963 to March 2023 without ever being involved in a car accident.
She drove in and around the streets of Johannesburg in the 70s, 80s and 90s, and then the South Coast for the remainder of her golden years.
Wendy also drove different cars ranging from a Mini, Ford Prefect, Ford Anglia, Uno, Jaguar and even a Land Rover… and finally completing her journey in her Volvo.
“May fellow road users take inspiration from Wendy’s story and travel safely on our roads, said her son, Tisch.
And as Wendy would say: “Go with a prayer”
