Police colonel retires after 41 years
He was stationed at Port Shepstone Saps and also served at Scottburgh, Mondeor and Southport police stations.
After 41 years of faithful service, Colonel Andries Pieter Lombard from Port Shepstone Saps has retired.
He served as a support commander for the last 30 years and was released from service at the end of March.
Lombard served at Scottburgh, Mondeor and Southport police stations where he made many great memories and friendships.
“He joined the organisation in 1982 and progressed through the ranks while serving in various environments such as supply chain management as well as at VISPOL,” said Captain Zenzele Petros Mpinge, Port Shepstone Saps communications officer.
“Colonel Lombard was generous in sharing his expertise and skill with colleagues and management.”
On behalf of the Saps, he has been wished well and thanked for his service to the organisation by the Ugu District Commissioner, Major General Sethenya Nxamagele.
