Pensioner’s vehicle vandalised
The vehicle had deep scratches and little drawings all over it.
A mid-South Coast resident (who wishes to remain anonymous) has been left speechless after his vehicle was vandalised over the long weekend.
The pensioner stated that he had driven to Gandhinagar, Umzinto to attend a function at the time.
“The function finished late and it was very dark outside so I did not notice anything out of the ordinary at the time,” he said.
“The next morning when I went to my garage, I noticed a long scratch on my boot. I decided to check the rest of my vehicle and soon realised that the entire thing had deep scratches and what appears to be little drawings everywhere.”
The pensioner believes that a child may have drawn on his vehicle with a stone or sharp object as some of the drawings look like letters and childish doodles.
“My vehicle gets parked in a locked garage so there is no way that this could have been done after the function I attended,” he explained.
“This is a very unfortunate and disappointing incident as I have always taken such good care of my vehicle and invested so much in it.”
The man added that he did thereafter speak to someone that was at the same function and was told that they had noticed a few children playing near where the vehicles were parked.
“I am in the process of sorting this matter out with my insurance company and I did make a police report, but this entire matter has left me frustrated and caused unnecessary stress for someone my age.”
“If this really was a child, then parents please discipline your children and teach them right from wrong. Perhaps this can be avoided from happening again to the next person.”
