Ugu strategises for 2023/24
The focus is service delivery improvement, primarily the refurbishment of water pipelines, installing boreholes, dealing with illegal connections among others.
Ugu District Municipality held a two-day Strategic Planning Session at the Estuary Hotel in Port Edward last week.
During deliberations, councillors and senior management unpacked the overall service delivery improvement plan, the draft budget, the disaster project, the housing sector plan and other projects in the pipeline.
Councillors cracked the whip and constructively made inputs towards the improvement of water services and sanitation to the people.
The focus is service delivery improvement, primarily the refurbishment of water pipelines, installing boreholes, dealing with illegal connections among others.
Acting mayor Mandla Chiya opened the session, and highlighted the objective of a strategic planning session. He said it was to ensure improvement in the municipality’s performance.
“We must uphold the vision and mission of our municipality and measure our performance on the ground to build better communities.”
Resolutions to be implemented were taken and will be monitored towards addressing identified challenges, to ensure an accountable and better performing municipality.
