Ezinqoleni man sentenced for raping mentally challenged woman

The woman was able to easily identify her assailant as he was from the same area.

Sipho Msayi Ncama (28) was sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment in the Ezinqoleni Regional Court after being found guilty of rape.

He was found unfit to possess a firearm.

The court found Ncama guilty of raping a 25-year-old mentally challenged woman, when she went to a family gathering in Ezinqoleni on May 30.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge said the woman was able to easily identify her assailant as he was from the same area – police then arrested and charged him.

After a number of appearances in the Ezinqoleni Regional Court,  Ncama was sentenced.

The investigating officer was Detective Sergeant Joel Shezi of the Margate (FCS) Family Violence and Child Protection unit.
