One dead, three injured in stabbing spree in Margate

An official police report is awaited, and the story will be updated when more facts come to light.

Emergency services responded to reports of what was described as a mass stabbing at a car park near Valley Road in Margate at around midnight (Wednesday, May 31).

Chantell Botha of KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service said that upon arrival paramedics quickly assessed the situation and found that one person had sustained critical stab wounds.

Another person sustained serious stab wounds and a further two minor stab wounds.

“Sadly, the person who was fatally stabbed had died before emergency services arrived,” she said.

The patients were treated before being transported to the hospital.
