WATCH: Southbroom resident spots large python slithering across road

It was not your usual wildlife sighting.

Southbroom resident, Kym Pollard got a huge surprise when she returned home one evening recently.

While driving, she caught sight of the tail of a giant reptile (at first she wasn’t sure what) slithering into the bush.

Of course, she snapped a pic!

The first ‘tail-end’ photograph Kym Pollard took of the reptile.

Curious, she followed the noise the creature was making, which lead her to the outside of the property.

As she saw the creature emerging out of the bush, she realised it was a very large Southern African python, and managed to capture it on video, slithering across the road.

Kym admits that she was terrified to see such a massive snake around. She believes it was easily three metres in length.

“It’s a huge privilege to have seen it, but it’s quite daunting to know it lives in the area. When I arrive home in the dark, I now have this fear it’s waiting for me in the dark,” she chuckled, nervously.
