Factors such as weather, wear and tear, can affect a front door’s appearance over time. However, there are four simple ways to refresh your front door
- The weather and sun affects paint jobs as it can cause exterior paint to crack and peel. Varying temperatures cause wooden doors to expand and contract, weakening bonds between paint layers and painted surfaces.
If it happens, consider scraping old paint and sanding down the door before applying a new paint colour. If you prefer the natural colour of wood, varnish the door to allow the natural grooves and hues to shine. - Also update door knobs, locks, and knockers. Replace house numbers to match the new hardware.
- A front door needs shrubbery to boost its appearance. Hang plants around the door frame or place large potted greenery to the side of the frame, simple yet effective.
- Also, consider switching out your welcome mat after each season to keep things new and fresh.
