Dedication time for Port Edward NG church’s new home

It is with great joy that members held a dedication service, on May 21, and can now proclaim 'all honour and glory to God!'

The Port Edward campus of the NG Congregation Margate is alive and well, thanks to persistent prayer and a welcome gift.

From the early 1970s the services of the Port Edward district of the NG church were held in the hall of the police resort.

Fundraising and fervent prayers for an own place of worship started in these early years.

Unfortunately, the resort changed ownership and the hall was no longer available every Sunday for church services.

The Catholic Church (St Josephs) allowed the NG church to share their church for services.
This arrangement continued for many years and a good relationship developed between the two groups. Then the Lord intervened!

In early 2021, Southcity Church presented the NG church with the wonderful gift of their church and premises in Port Edward free of charge.

This was an answer to the countless prayers over the years.

The first service in the new premises took place on May 13 in 2021, during the Covid pandemic. Subsequently, church attendance has increased.

Members are thankful for all the donations and effort from every person and establishment over all the years.
The church now boasts a lovely stinkwood pulpit which was made by a late member.
