No water for two days as Ugu plans maintenance shutdown

Work is being carried out on the primary 450mm line feeding the Northern system.

Ugu District Municipality has planned a maintenance shutdown for June 6 and June 7 (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Although Hibberdine, Pumula, Nyandezulu, Sunwich Port and other parts of Port Shepstone have had no water for weeks, Ugu has advised the public to store enough water for the shutdown period.

A notice was issued by the municipality which states maintenance is being carried out on the primary 450mm line feeding the Northern system.

“Affected communities are advised to store enough water for their basic needs as the relief tanker filling points will be affected.”
