Scottburgh police hold awareness campaigns
Scottburgh Saps asks the public to engage effectively and promote safer communities with the police.
Sergeant Christopher Mahlawe of Scottburgh Saps together with his colleagues, Men for Change, learners of Gugulisizwe High School and Toyota Malanda recently embarked on a roadshow promoting ‘No to Gender-Based Violence’.
This awareness campaign commenced from the high school to the taxi rank in Amandawe. Members of the public also joined in showing their support of no violence against women and children.
Sergeant Mahlawe was also part of another awareness campaign prior to this event at Berachah Church in Park Rynie. This was for local women who were given a presentation related to gender-based and domestic violence.
They were given a talk on how to avoid becoming a victim of crime and self-defence techniques were offered with the assistance of another Saps member, Jolene Govender.
