Legends evening in Oct
The purpose of the function will be to honour sporting legends, especially those who played during the amateur era, when participation was for the love of the sport.
In a first for the South Coast, Margate Sports School will host a Legends’ Evening on Friday, October 6 from 18:00 to 22:30.
The purpose of the function will be to honour sporting legends, especially those who played during the amateur era, when participation was for the love of the sport.
Legends is a project initiated by Willie Kahts, who felt that the feats of the legends needed to be remembered, and to help them with financial support where needed.
This function has been held in Springs for the past 16 years and has developed into arguably the greatest function of its kind in South Africa.
In 2021, the function concluded with around 80 former legends attending.
The evening is divided into two sessions, during which specially invited guests on stage will share their views on relevant matters.
There will be a focus on the Rugby World Cup this year.
This function is twofold – a marketing opportunity for businessmen and a community event for people to meet and support legends from the sporting world.
