Join walk for peace and unity on Dec 22
The walk will start by meeting at Beekman House in Port Shepstone at 15:00 and finish at the nearby lighthouse at 15:30 with three minutes of silence being observed.
Danielle Beekman, one of the founders of non-profit Muse, has invited the community to a walk for peace on Friday, December 22.
Meet at Beekman House at 15:00, with the walk to the lighthouse and then three minutes of silence at 15:30.
Muse is a non-profit initiative focused on ending period poverty and stigma through service, education, awareness, aid and advocacy.
Danielle said the aim of the walk was to embrace peace, harmony and unity in the community through the power of intention.
The walk will start at Beekman House in Port Shepstone and finish at the nearby lighthouse.
“Join us on the walk or observe a moment of silence from wherever you are,” she said.
She said they believe wholeheartedly in the transformative power of intention.
“By collectively setting our intentions for peace, harmony and unity, we can create a profound impact in our community. This holiday season, let’s gift one another the power of connection and unconditional love, fueled by our desire to foster peace, harmony, and unity.”
Danielle said that when one plants the seeds of connection in the fertile soil of unconditional love, intentions become even more potent. True reconciliation and lasting change can flourish when we come together with a shared vision, she shared.
“As we walk, let us infuse our steps with the power of our intentions, committing our hearts and spirits to this noble mission. Our walk will culminate at the Port Shepstone Lighthouse, where we will observe three minutes of silence.”
She felt the lighthouse served as a beacon, radiating the collective power of intention to the rest of the world.
“Together, let us share our vision with all our neighbours, transcending boundaries of nation, creed, and colour. Let us gift the world with the transformative power of peace, harmony, and unity. There is so much that connects us. Let us focus on these profound connections, guided by the spirit of Ubuntu: Together, we are stronger.”
