Peace walk for unity this Friday

Danielle Beekman, one of the founders of non-profit Muse, has invited the community to a walk for peace on Friday, December 22.

The walk will start at Beekman House in Port Shepstone at 15:00 and finish at the nearby lighthouse, where three minutes of silence will be observed at 15:30.

Muse is a non-profit initiative focused on ending period poverty and stigma through service, education, awareness, aid and advocacy.

Danielle said the aim of the walk was to embrace peace, harmony and unity in the community through the power of intention.

“Join us on the walk or observe a moment of silence from wherever you are,” she said.

She said they believe wholeheartedly in the transformative power of intention.

“This holiday season, let’s gift one another the power of connection and unconditional love, fueled by our desire to foster peace, harmony, and unity.”

Danielle said that true reconciliation and lasting change can flourish when one comes together with a shared vision.

She felt the lighthouse served as a beacon, radiating the collective power of intention to the rest of the world.

“Together, let us share our vision with all our neighbours, transcending boundaries of nation, creed, and colour. Let us gift the world with the transformative power of peace, harmony, and unity. There is so much that connects us. Let us focus on these profound connections, guided by the spirit of Ubuntu: Together, we are stronger.”
